Who can see your photos

Who can see your photos — and how to control it

A shared gallery is only useful if you decide who gets in. Here is exactly what is public, what is not, and which switches are yours.

Nobody finds your gallery by searching. It lives at an unguessable address, carries a noindex tag, and the whole guest area is blocked in robots.txt — so it never appears in Google or Bing, and there is no directory of galleries to browse. The only way in is the QR code or the link you hand out, which means access is exactly as wide as you choose to make it.

On top of that you get three controls. Moderation holds every upload in a private queue that only you can see, so nothing reaches the other guests until you approve it. You can delete any individual photo at any time, or delete the whole event and everything in it. And uploading closes on its own: the window is counted from your event date, so the gallery stops accepting new files without you having to remember to shut it.

The question behind almost every worry about guest galleries is the same one: who else can look at this? For an event album the honest answer has to be specific, because "private" means different things in different products — some mean unlisted, some mean password-protected, some mean nothing much at all.

Here it means three things at once. The address cannot be guessed, search engines are told to stay out and are blocked from the guest area entirely, and location data is stripped from every file before it appears. Everything beyond that — who uploads, what survives moderation, how long the window stays open — is a setting you control from the organizer dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

Can guests see photos before I approve them?

Only if moderation is off. With it on, uploads sit in a private queue visible to you alone, and guests see nothing until you release them.

Can I delete a photo a guest uploaded?

Yes, any individual photo, at any time, from the organizer dashboard. You can also delete the entire event and every file in it.

Does the gallery show up in Google?

No. It carries a noindex tag and the whole guest area is disallowed in robots.txt, so search engines do not index it.

How do I stop people uploading?

Uploading closes automatically once the upload window ends — it is counted from your event date, which you can change in the dashboard.

Is my location in the photos?

No. Location and camera metadata is stripped from every file during processing, before the photo appears in the gallery.
