What is the energy (power generator) game practice?

Arctic Shores' Energy task — the power generator game — shows four generators. Press one and it shows the energy it produced on that pull, and sometimes energy it lost; a bar marked 1,000 to 6,000 moves by the difference. Some generators give more per pull but now and then lose a lot; others give less and lose little. It is a version of the Iowa Gambling Task: the real task reads how you make decisions under risk and how quickly you learn which choices pay off over time.

How this practice version works. One hundred pulls, starting at 3,500 energy with 6,000 as the target. Which generators are the risky ones is reshuffled every session. Your score is the energy you end with. As with the balloon game, there is no right profile in the real task — but noticing which generators pay off is the part that is a skill, and it is what the percentile here measures.

What helps: try all four early, then judge each by what it has done over several pulls, not by its last one. A big gain per pull is not the same as a good generator.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Arctic Shores energy game?

Candidates call it the power generator game: four generators, each press shows the energy gained and sometimes lost, and a bar from 1,000 to 6,000 tracks your total. Some generators pay more per press but sometimes lose a lot; it is a version of the Iowa Gambling Task.

Is there a right strategy?

In the real assessment it is read as a trait — how you make decisions under risk — so there is no profile to perform. In this practice version the score is the energy you end with, which rewards noticing that the generators with the biggest gains are not the ones that pay off.

Are these the real Arctic Shores numbers?

No. The screen follows Arctic Shores' own footage, and the start of 3,500 and target of 6,000 follow candidates' and prep providers' accounts, but the gains, losses and number of pulls here are our own; Arctic Shores does not publish them.
